An Expose of Exposing False Teachers – Titus 1.12-16
Nov 23, 2025 • Andrew Goins
Paul warns Titus about false teachers in Crete, quoting a local saying that “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.” He stresses the need to rebuke them sharply so they may be sound in the faith, not paying attention to myths or human commands. He contrasts purity with corruption, noting that to the pure all things are pure, but to the corrupt nothing is pure. He concludes that such people profess to know God but deny Him by their deeds, being detestable and disobedient.
